ABOUT ME
Caroline Marie Anderson, A.K.A. Marie the Potter, was born and raised along the salt marshes of Charleston, South Carolina where her pottery journey began when she found native clay in her backyard as a child. However, it wasn't until attending the University of South Carolina that CMA Pottery and Arts started to take shape. A year after graduating from UofSC's Studio Arts program, Marie founded the business in the summer of 2024. She discovered a fascination with historical pottery and the history of indigenous ceramic processes native to the Lowcountry. Marie offers live educational demonstrations of pottery styles from multiple historical time periods at local markets and Renaissance Faires. She creates both functional ware and decorative historical recreations. Her work can also be found at Luck's Ware Pottery in Seagrove, NC
